Food Trucks - Downtown LA's Artwalk

The Downtown Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour of the many art exhibition venues in Downtown Los Angeles – commercial art galleries, museums, and non-profit arts venues. It takes place on the 2nd Thursday of every month.
It is also a good excuse to meet up with your friends after work, grab a couple of drinks, pretend to be artsy fartsy, and of course to scoop out all the LA food trucks that are lined up on the street!! Nom nomz!

With the aroma filled with delectable, greasy, goodness along with the long lines of hungry beasts, it was hard to choose where to eat. When in doubt always opt for Calbi BBQ, Kogi BBQ, or The Flying Pig - all 3 have notoriously AMAZING Korean-tacos, hella cheap too. I like Calbi BBQ more. Oh! And always have ca$h!

!!!WARNING!!!
If you don't want to feel like a fat cow afterwards, I highly suggest to eat a small meal beforehand. Or not, because then what's the point?! That's why you are at the artWALK!!

Which Korean taco trucks reigns supreme??

 mmmm...I don't knoooow...

YES! This one!

Calbi BBQ Taco - Beef short rib perfectly seasoned bite-sized pieces, fresh veggies, signature mild/spicy sauce, & corn tortillas

DROOLING YET?

This was interesting...got this from a Greek truck (forgot name). It's french fries, with feta cheese, and drizzled with honey. Taste? The creaminess from the feta is good, the honey was a little too sweet for our buds, but once doused with hot sauce, then we have a BANGER!
There were a few of us who have not had THE GRILLED CHEESE TRUCK! Right there on Main St. parked in front of The Pacific Electric Lofts, there it was. First time visitors, we HIGHLY suggest the signature Cheesy Mac & Rib Melt - it just oozes of melted sharp cheddar, BBQ pork, and caramelized onions. Get it with a shot of tomato soup - perfect for dipping!!

Tahoe Galbi - 3986 Wilshire Blvd

Tahoe Galbi is probably one of the cleanest Korean BBQ restaurants that I've been to. And their meat choices are good as well - they also serve seafood! Sittin on the corner of Wilshire & Wilton, Tahoe Galbi has marble floors that are not oily, slippery, or sticky! And when you walk in, instead of being clouded with smoke, it is filled with the sweet aroma of cooked beefy goodness!!!

With all you can eat $9.99 lunch and $17.99 dinner, this place is choice for small and big groups - Bring your appetite!!

OMG! So excited!!!

CHEERS to good friends & good food!

All-you-can-eat beef brisket goodness!!

Marston's Restaurant - 151 E. Walnut St.

Lunch yesterday took place in Old Town Pasadena at Marston's Restaurant. We originally went for their brunch but we were 1/2 hour too late =(

It sits across the street from picturesque, Pasadena Memorial Park - inside is cozy, quaint, and cottage-like. More like a place to take your mom or grandma. Nonetheless, the food we ordered was good, although I would probably opt for a more sturdier bread for the sandwiches we ordered.

GRILLED CHICKEN AND GORGONZOLA MELT
Grilled chicken served on a whole wheat bun with gorgonzola cheese, seasoned cream cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sprouts.

TURKEY OPEN FACE
Sliced turkey, apple chutney, seasoned cream cheese, cheddar cheese, avocado, and sprouts, served on toasted whole wheat bread.
