Shabu Shabu House - 127 Japanese Village Plz Mall

The Yummy 3some lunch bunch was down by 1 member but joined by 2 more friends - the more the merrier! Destination: Shabu Shabu House in Little Tokyo. Our lunch venture was started by eating shabu at least once a week - not only is shabu healthy and good for you, shabu is REALLY good!!!

For those who are unfamiliar with shabu shabu and don't like the idea of cooking your own food, don't fret! It is really easy and once you get the hang of it, the experience can be fun! Here are the basics of eating shabu shabu:

1. Prep Station: Boiling hot water, rice, sesame sauce, ponzu sauce, plate of raw vegtables, plate of paper thin slices of beef/chicken
2. Place all your veggies in hot water to cook first
3. Swish swish slices of meat in hot water (takes seconds!)
4. Dip cooked meat in favorite sauces

DO NOT eat slices of meat raw!!!

mmmmm...look at all the marbeling!

ENJOY!!

Furaibo - 1741 W. Redondo Beach Bl

You know Japanese food for good sushi, but Furaibo will make you leave thinking about good chicken wings!!! Their tebasaki wings have been captivating customers for years! You can adjust the amount of spicy on your wings. It is so good that you won't mind waiting in line for it.

Other good foods to try are the Karei Karabe (fried baby halibut), spinach bacon, karage chicken, and this one eggplant with ground pork dish!

Nickle Diner - 524 S. Main St

Nickel Diner is located in Downtown LA on Main St. between 5th & 6th. It is also the birth place of where the Yummy 3some was created!!!

It was Nickel's donuts that lured us in here one day - they got special flavors like Red Velvet, Orange Clockwork, Strawberry Crumble, Nutella, and their infamous Maple-glazed Bacon donut!!! I really believe these donuts would do Homer proud! Oh yea, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner too.
